On a grassy plateau, surrounded by mountains and with the spectacular Grand Tetons as a backdrop, sits the town of Jackson. Antler arches in the town square and wooden sidewalks under deep verandahs. The people are laid back and friendly and wild animals – moose, elk, bighorn sheep, wolves – hang out and graze on the edge of town. Despite the fact that the hills around here contain some of the best skiing and snowboarding in North America, there is no doubt that when you’re in Jackson you’re in still in cowboy territory.
